As I’m building out our 501c3 The COWRIE Initiative, I’ve looking for how to explain Cooperative Economics in a easily digestible manner, and I must say this is one of most succinct explanations of it! Thank you for including this in your piece Faydra Deon!

The COWRIE Initiative is home to Bank Black USA an independent grassroots organization that formed out of the larger #BankBlack Movement following deadly police shootings in black communities in July 2016. Our work builds on a long legacy of connecting our economic power to improving social and racial justice and equity in America. Developing meaningful partnerships with academic, civic, and other partners will help us to reach for this lofty but necessary goal. We believed that these Minority Depository Institutions can play an integral role in closing the racial wealth gap but are under-supported. We have done a tremendous amount of work with our black owned institutions to highlight their projects, successes and their opportunities for improvement

If you find value in the work we do, feel free to connect with me as well as check out the work we are doing at www.bankblackusa.org
