About Brand Logo
The brand logo was created through dialogue and collaboration with the BARK team. In the work towards the final design, our designer performed live design during the meeting, and worked with the members to give the meaning to the shape and find the meaning from the shape, which were repetitive work. The logo emerges by combining 10 “BARK ELEMENTS” which symbolize BARK’s inclusive culture and the individuality of each person. This were designed based on 7 image concepts; “Inclusive & Diversity”, “Life journey”, “WOW inspirational”, “Go big”, “Movement”, “Unusual”, and “Independence” . It represents the endless possibilities and continuous evolution of the team independent of age and nationality.
In addition, another symbol formed by the development of BARK ELEMENTS is called “REFLECTIVE HORIZON”. It represents the people who gather and go ahead. The single line drawn in the middle means path of life. It represents something that you couldn’t see because of common sense, and that you could see when you look back at the true nature. This idea leads to the theme of “Redefine Your Path” for BARK ’s first CELEBRATION “BARKATION by BARK” to be held at Tokyo Big Sight in 2020.
About Brand Color
BARK’s brand color is not yet defined, since they are undefined “white” represents all of the positive potential margins that anyone can draw freely. “Black” is a powerful driving force by gathering and meeting each other. In addition, at “BARKATION by BARK” to be held in 2020, a color that reflects the dawn of hope for new aspiration was adopted in accordance with the theme “Redefine Your Path”. The color expresses the “premonition” of the story created by the global startup community originating in Japan, inspired by the traditional Japanese colors Shoshohi and Ginshu.

“BARK is not owned by anyone. We all create a new future while enjoying change and challenge. We always evolve and have no specific shape.” I wanted to incorporate this concept in the best possible way. This logo was built from the BARK team who have re-worked the core of the activity over and over again, the for Startups team have supported us without compromise, and all the people who have created and proved this culture. I think that the convincing logo has been completed. (Thank you so much everyone!) However, the completion of the brand logo is just the starting line. I would like to make a movement with this logo and involve people from all around the world.

“We think something is wrong with the current society, we are aware of the problem and we are going to change this.” I remember the words and expressions of Ms. Furukawa mentioned at an early meeting where the brand name was not yet decided.
