In March, a Chinese stray dog became famous after running 77 miles alongside the Australian ultramarathon runner Dion Leonard.

After the dog followed him through the Gobi dessert during the Gobi March Race, Leonard decided to name her Gobi and adopt her.

Leonard started a crowdfunding campaign to bring Gobi home with him to Scottland, where he lives. In just a few days, they raised enough money for covering all the expenses. They only needed to wait until the quarantine was over to be reunited… But there has been an unfortunate and sad update: Gobi is missing in Urumqi, China.

Leonard is offering a £1000 reward for her return and has traveled to Urumqi to find her. Animal shelters and locals are also looking for Gobi, and Chinese media has echoed the story. Their Facebook Page, Bring Gobi Home, offers updates on the situation every day.

A new crowdfunding campaign is now live to help cover the expenses for finding Gobi (flyers, advertising…). In less than 1 week they have already raised 84% of the £10,000 goal.

Can you help him find Gobi?
