Disappointed is seemingly the most appropriate word to describe people who pull the string in Indonesia Government. Preponderance scandals involving politicians, bureaucrats, and even leaders have made Indonesia citizens, in our opinion, pessimistic to trust those often-seen-on-TV people. The idea of recall election, written beautifully by Lutfi, is simply one of many ways to stop rampant evil actions from rooting deeper and again, it is strongly related with trust. Hence, would it make more sense to prevent those “Indonesia most important people” from being occupied with those well-dressed rats?

The Good News!

The good news is that we do have a glimpse of light with the rise of innovative and intelligent people who have been inspiring with their actions. Most of them remain untouched by politics which lead them thrive with ideas to, not only gain profit, but to accommodate most people to live easier. Yes, we are talking about Andrew Darwis, Nadiem Makariem, William Tanuwijaya, and many other starts up bosses to stand up and take more actions to fix Indonesia as a whole. And guess what, they are far more eligible to help Indonesia to be a better place rather than those people who turn politic into their own benefits.

  1. The Game Changer

They are the definitely the game changer with their business enabling people to live an easier life. Go-Jek, for example, has been a massive help for Jokowi’s Government to cut down unemployment rate whilst in the same time, providing a more comfortable transportation system to people. A smooth introduction to e-commerce by some local companies have also made people easier and simpler to live life where it also influences people to adapt more to the use of technology. Their big ideas are basically revolving on how to make people live easier therefore why not involving them on a bigger scale governmental projects? With a strong mind set to simplify everything, their contribution should be massive.

2. Power to harness technology

Most of these successful start-ups are harnessing the power of technology as their core business’s core element. Filled with savvy workers along with futuristic ideas, those start-ups are able to turn the tide into their favour. The chain reaction is that more and more people are getting used to use technology on a daily basis which leads to a more educated society. Yes, we won’t be too aware that Indonesia is now evolving into a more high tech country, thanks to those start-ups.

A good example would be online transportation where it required both drivers and passengers to, not only, operate mobile phone, but also to use other features such as mobile data, Wi-Fi, GPS, social media, and so on. Indonesia government, on the other hand, has not yet harnessed technology into a big scale where most things are still the way it is from years ago which practically provides opportunity for those well-dressed rats. Involving these people to government would surely give a significant improvement to push technology into government’s huge benefits.

3. Not educated as rats

This is also important since most people who take a big chunk of government spaces are educated as rats. Why so? Because becoming a member of any Indonesia party is basically the first requirement to enter the government. And it has been a public secret that in any political parties, all members will be taught about how to provide a “free flow income” toward their party by harnessing their position in the government. Hence, they are educated as rats and once rat, they will always be a rat with an objective to gain as much as possible whilst they have good position.

Start-up bosses have their own way to turn their business into money maker instead of stealing and corrupting people’ hence they are not educated as rats. Hence, these are people that we need to get back people’s trust to the government itself since those start-up bosses are basically the today’s top role model for citizens.

So, why not? They all have what it takes to be involved deeply into the government. With a mind set of a game changer, technology-based business, and not educated as rats are three strong points for Indonesia president in having a serious conversation with all those inspiring people. Once they are onboard, we will surely wait for massive positive changes for Indonesia.
