Brayan Pena Announces Plans to Join Army Reserve
With the Fourth of July just passing, and all of the incredible MLB tributes, ceremonies, and celebrations, everyone’s feeling super American lately. Cardinals catcher Brayan Pena took it to a new level, announcing on twitter his offseason plans to join the Army Reserve.
Im very proud to announce with the support of my wife & family that i will be joining the ARMY RESERVE this off season “ God Bless America “

Brayan Pena is not American born. The 34 year old catcher was born in La Habana, Cuba. He signed with the Braves in 2000, and made his MLB debut in 2005 at the age of 23. Over his 16 year career, Pena has been with the Royals, Reds, Tigers, Braves, and Cardinals.
In the super messed up political and anti-American (at times) country we live in, it’s cool to see things like this. Someone who came to this country, worked his ass off, and freely chose to pull this super American move.
