Dfinity — The NASA of Cloud Computing

What is Dfinity?
If you’re looking into Dfinity you should have at least an idea of what cloud computing is at the bare minimum and how important it is to modern tech. Dfinity is creating a new decentralized cloud — “Cloud 3.0", that will give enterprise access to a virtual super computer, a single, infinitely scalable, self managing internet-based computer with unbounded capacity. It is promised to cut the costs of running cloud-based business applications by 90 percent and upend the current cloud services model led by tech giants like Google and Amazon.
Why we are investing?
Dfinity has already raised over $60 million from Polychain Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and possibly others, which although are indicators that show major support in this project, seems rather a lot for a network that isn’t expected to deploy until the end of 2018. Despite this, we saw very strong results in the October deployment of a small 500 node testnet, and therefore we are bullish on the future growth of this incredible developing technology. We had the privilege of attending the Blockchain Connect conference last month and we were blown away by the intelligence of Tom Ding, the CEO of String Labs, an incubator and infrastructure provider for the Dfinity project. The team has a brilliant vision for the future of the internet with radically sophisticated new properties. We are confident their team of talented individuals such as Dominic Williams and Tom Ding can deliver on this promising new blockchain and will move fast in this space.
