Making friends used to strictly be an IRL process. Now thanks to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc., meeting like-minded people is just as possible online. In fact, using social media to broaden your friendship circle has never been easier.

And if you’re interested in connecting with Latinx people specifically, we did the homework for you and compiled a list of groups on social media that we think are noteworthy…as in we hit the friend request button with the quickness ;)

Let’s all get to know them and what they stand for:

BASIC BROWN NERDS

Founder: Joy Valerie and Grecia

Who are they? An interactive platform and podcast discussing identity, mental health, and navigating white spaces. It all started organically over brunch as hosts, Joy, and Grecia shared a feeling of being outcast while coming of age in suburban America. They decided they wanted to help others who identified with this experience no matter their race or ethnicity. Thus making community building the main objective of Basic Brown Nerds.

For more information check out their website at basicbrownerds.com. To listen find your favorite episode here: basicbrownnerds.com/listen and follow @basicbrownnerds to get updates via Instagram.
