About the Speakers
Nilesh Shah
Managing Director, Kotak AMC Ltd
Nilesh Shah is the Managing Director (MD) of Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Co Ltd. He has over 25 years of experience in capital markets and market related investments, having managed funds across equity, fixed income securities and real estate for local and global investors. In his previous assignments, Nilesh has held leadership roles with Axis Capital, ICICI Prudential Asset Management Franklin Templeton and ICICI securities. Nilesh is the recipient of the inaugural Business Standard Fund Manager of the year award — Debt in 2004. He was part of the team that received the best fund house of the year award at Franklin Templeton as well as at ICICI Prudential. Nilesh is a gold medalist chartered accountant and a merit ranking cost accountant. His hobbies include reading and educating investors on financial planning. He has co-authored book on Financial Planning called “A Direct Take”.
Madan Sabnavis
Chief Economist, CARE Ratings Ltd.
Madan Sabnavis was one of the first members of the team which setup the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX). During his six-years at the exchange, he pioneered commodity fundamental research. Madan began his career with the erstwhile ICICI Limited (a developmental financial institution), where he spent twelve years. This was followed by three years at ICICI Bank and Larson and Toubro for three and two years respectively. Since 2010 he has been the Chief Economist with CARE Ratings Ltd. He has written over 2500 articles and authored three books, the latest being Economics of India: How to fool all people for all times. He is also on various committees of SEBI, NISM and IIBF.

Harinderjit is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years’ experience. Skilled in Corporate Law, Board Governance, Auditing, Accounting, and Leadership, he has been Partner in a firm of CAs for the past 22 years.
Narinder Wadhwa
Vice President, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College Alumni Association
Narinder is the Founder and Managing Director of SKI Capital Services Ltd and SKI Group. He is also President — Commodity Participants Association of India; Chairman — ASSOCHAM National Council for Capital Markets & Investors Education; and Director — Association of National Exchanges Members of India.
About Basicolans
Ever since the first batch passed out in 1970, graduates of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College — Basicolans — have seized opportunities provided by various challenging arenas to position themselves as specialists in different segments of their respective fields which can be a role model for the young generation. The college takes pride in having a rich treasure of alumni who have accomplished great heights in their respective fields.
To establish and maintain contact among ex-students, to foster a feeling of community and friendship and to promote the spirit of mutual helpfulness among them the college launched Shaheed Bhagat Singh College Alumni Association in May 2010. Since then, Basicolans has been going from strength to strength, organising socio-cultural and networking programs, conducting training sessions for students and professionals, and acting as a platform for business networking.
