Flouncy ruffles are all the buzz this summer

Time to give your honest opinion gals. We all know that ruffles have been a huge part of fashion, ever since royal families came to existance. Decade after decade they’re either making a comeback or desperately trying to make one. So far we’ve seen them on skirts, shirts and dresses and the craze with this charming, although sometimes annoying trend, doesn’t seem to have an end. Now, they’re all over pants and sleeves, so the eternal question remains, is it something that will stick or go away soon. We mean, haven’t we had enough?

Apparently not. You see the thing is, even though we don’t live in romantic times anymore, there’s something about ruffles that takes us back to these days when romance was alive and burning. It seems as if we want to relive these past times vividly through our fashion choices no less. Who can blaim us really, we live in a world that’s so cruel, and if ruffles could bring back the splendour of lost romance, who are we to judge, right? Whatever it is that draws us to them, frills are the hottest trend this summer, so we’ve assembled a list of all things ruffly that you need to own. Don’t judge us, we admit, we’re a bit of romantic fools and obviously bipolar, since we can’t really decide whether we like them or hate them.

DRESSES

Ruffle dresses are always a good idea

Dresses and ruffles have always found a way to complement each other. A summer staple, the ruffle dress is always a good idea, just like Paris. We can’t believe, we made that analogy, but it sticks right? There’s something about them that make us come back to them over and over again, especially when we aim to add a pop of drama to our daily lives. Be careful though, too much frill can eat you, so to avoid looking like a giant cupcake pick those dresses with a touch of wavy detail.

PANTS

Ruffle craze has moved to our pants too

Out of all the craziness going around, ruffles have found their way in to our bottoms too. Can you believe it? Although very subtle, we do believe that this is a trend that’s surely going to die, just like the peplum one. Puff, gone with the wind kind of thing. But until it does, if you don’t find this trend charming enough, pick your pants wisely, so you can alter them later, when this thing is no longer in its full swing. Pair this trend with simple shirts and plain accessories.

ACCESSORIES

Ruffles on shoes make for an adorable outfit

Want a gentle wave to stay on trend? Worry not, there is this thing called shoes which can always provide you with just a hint of frill and a dose of cuteness without compromising your whole “I don’t give a f**k” attitude. If you want to add a bit of romantic charm to a tomboy outfit, than these babes are definitely the right way to go.

A gentle reminder of all things girly and romantic, ruffles’ playful nature offers a rather feminine way of dressing. These flouncy details are slowly but surely taking over our wardrobes and we’re not sure whether we like it or hate it. So while we’re trying to decide which side to take, check these ruffly things, we’ve added to Bastet Noir. Ruffle up gals, we’re in for one hell of a wavy ride this summer.
