IVANA KNEZ, the ultimate drama queen!
When you’re drawn to the theatrics as much as this fierce woman who has devoted her entire life to creating art outside of the stage of the theatre, you’re bound to add drama to every single thing you do. It comes naturally to you and it’s an inevitable part of any creation process you embark upon. So it goes without saying that when this kind of woman decided to create a brand, her first choice of a name would be DRAMA.
DRAMA was born out of the desire to add theatrics to streetwear and accessories. The label started with creating extravagant accessories combining seemingly unmatchable materials like chains and pearls and from there on, it started to grow into a fashion empire that today features lines of wedding dresses, streetwear and accessories.
When we first launched Bastet Noir, Ivana Knez was one of the first designers to join the wagon. She created an eco-friendly line which featured architectural interpretation of theatre costumes. It was bold, edgy and fierce. That’s how the brand got into designing clothes and the rest is history.
So here we have the lady behind all that DRAMA talking about things that inspire her, her love for cats and the innate penchant for drama.
BASTET NOIR: Describe your designer style
IVANA KNEZ: Bold, brave, curious, emotional, personal, sensual, conceptual.
BASTET NOIR: What inspires you?
IVANA KNEZ: My life, my own personal experiences, the surrounding I live in, the world, society and other people’s character.
BASTET NOIR: What’s your proudest moment to date?
IVANA KNEZ: I do not have one. I’m a perfectionist, not as a compliment, but as a character flaw. Everything done, has always a chance to be done better.
BASTET NOIR: If you weren’t a fashion designer what would you be?
IVANA KNEZ: Environmentalist, I would probably be saving whales or wild cats. But I would surely be overdressed for the occasion.
BASTET NOIR: Things you can’t do without…
IVANA KNEZ: My job, my family, my animals and coffee.
Everything this woman does has drama attached to it and if you’re the type of gal who loves the thrill and excitement of a dramatic entrance than you’ll love this brand and you’ll adore its founder even more. Drama is sort of an inate thing really, either you got it or you don’t. You can’t fake this kind of thing. So be bold ladies, explore and always experiment with your style, because even though confidence is the most important thing about a woman, drama will take you places no other trait will.
