The Battle Racers Season 1 Crate Sale is now LIVE!!!

You can now purchase crates at battleracers.io/season1 and acquire parts for building cars you can race with in our playable Early Access. More info about the sale, including crate costs and drop rates, are in our previous update.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to participate in the crate sale. We highly recommend you read this in full. The guide is divided into four sections:

A. Wallet setup
B. Buying crates
C. Opening crates
D. Troubleshooting

A. Wallet setup

  • If you plan on using a credit card to purchase, you will still need an Ethereum wallet address to open your crates!
  • If you already have an Ethereum wallet address (MetaMask or Enjin, for example), you can skip this section.

You can buy crates with Ethereum, credit card, or any token supported by KyberPay.

Get an Ethereum wallet

We recommend using either of these wallets for our Season 1 Crate Sale.

Note: If you are using a credit card to purchase, you will still need an Ethereum wallet address!

  • Desktop: Metamask (works on Chrome and Brave browsers)
  • Mobile: Enjin (works on Android and iOS)

For MetaMask users: Connect your MetaMask account

If you’re using MetaMask, you will need to connect your MetaMask account to the Battle Racers site.

Go to the Battle Racers Season 1 page: battleracers.io/season1.

Log into MetaMask and click Connect. This is free!
Make sure that Main Ethereum Network is selected in the drop-down menu

B. Buying crates

The Battle Racers Season 1 page will allow you to purchase crates, which you can open to receive your NFT car parts.

Choose the crate you want to purchase from the icons on the upper left of the page
To buy multiple crates, drag the slider to the right. You can buy up to 100 at a time

Buying with ETH

To use ETH, make sure ETH is selected on the drop-down, then click on Purchase. A pop-up window will open asking you to confirm the transaction.

Confirm the transaction to purchase crates. Price may change depending on discount + gas fee

Click ‘Confirm Payment’. The transaction might take a while to go through, depending on network congestion. Please be patient!

When the transaction is done, we’ll notify you on the top of the page

Buying with credit card

Note: If you are using a credit card to purchase, you will still need an Ethereum wallet address!

To use your credit card, click on the dropdown and choose Credit Card

Click on ‘Purchase’. A Nifty Gateway pop-up window will open, asking you to log into Nifty Gateway.

Log in or create an account with Nifty Gateway

Click ‘Change Payment Method’ and add your credit card

IMPORTANT: You must add a separate Ethereum wallet address. Nifty Wallet only supports ERC721 tokens, and our crates are ERC20. That means you must send your crates to another wallet address that supports ERC20, otherwise you could lose your crates. Please do not skip this step! You can get any of the wallets we recommended in the earlier section.

Click on ‘Send to different wallet’
Click on ‘Add New Wallet’
Copy-paste your Ethereum wallet address here
Double-check that your destination wallet is the new wallet you just entered

Click ‘Confirm Payment’. The transaction might take a while to go through, depending on network congestion. Please be patient!

When the transaction is done, we’ll notify you on the top of the page.

Buying with other tokens

If you have other ERC20 tokens (MANA, ENJ, and 70+ other Ethereum tokens), you can pay using KyberPay.

To use other tokens, select “Other Currencies” in the dropdown and then click Purchase.
Select your ERC20 token on the left. The converted value from the ETH price will be shown beside it.

Check Agree to Terms & Conditions and then click Next to proceed.

Click on MetaMask to unlock your wallet, and then sign the next prompt.
Click on confirm then sign the transaction.

Once your request is done being broadcast, you’ll receive your crate/s!

C. Opening crates

To see the crates you own, go to the Inventory page and click the Crates tab.

Click on the crate that you want to open.

Set a crate allowance

If you don’t have a crate allowance for that type of crate, we will ask you to set one the first time you open. What this means is that you allow us to open a maximum of 1000 crates for you, rather than asking you each time. This is a MetaMask transaction — there will be one gas fee to open 1000 of a crate type, i.e. BRS1GDC for Season 1 Gold Crates (that’s the ERC20 name of the crate).

Click Confirm in both pop-ups to let us open up to 1000 crates of that type for you (saving you gas fees!)

Opening a crate

If you have enough crate allowance, clicking on the crate will show a larger version of it on the page.

This is it! Click ‘Open Crate!’
Your transaction is now being processed. Please be patient as this might take some time
When the transaction is over, click on the crate to reveal the parts
You did it! Here are the parts minted just for you

Viewing parts

Click on the Parts tab, then click on the part you want to view

Each part has its own unique URL in the address bar of your browser — go ahead and share it!

D. Troubleshooting

How do I know if the crate allowance has been granted?

Wait for this notification on the top of your screen before you start opening your crates. If you missed the message, you can refresh the page and check if crate allowance went up.

My crate quantity is not going down!

Sometimes, it takes a while for the Main Network to update the crate count. Please refresh the page.

I am getting an Unable to Open error! Did I lose my crate/parts?

This can be caused by high traffic or spam-clicking / refreshing. You should still receive your parts even with this error. Click ‘Confirm’ and then go to your Parts tab to check if you received your car parts. If you think there’s a discrepancy, please take screenshots of your crates and parts and then send us a support ticket in our Discord server.

I am getting a pop-up telling me I have a pending transaction. What’s happening?

This means you are trying to open a second crate when the first transaction is still not complete.

Please do not refresh / reload the page while a crate is opening! Click ‘Confirm’ and then wait a bit before clicking on another crate.

If you are stuck at the pop-up above, you can also click on the ‘Parts’ tab and then back to ‘Crates’ to refresh the tab without reloading the page.

We hope your crate purchases go smoothly! If you need help, you can reach us on Discord. Please clap or share if you like this article. Thanks for reading!
