As a prelude to the Duel Cup Open tournament, the Battle Racers team would like to introduce the Weekly Duels! We aim to provide a regular series of events to provide an avenue for racers to compete with each other for prizes.

The Weekly Duels will award one (1) Season 1 Gold Crate to the Champion, and one (1) Season 1 Silver Crate to the Runner-up, for every week in October. A minimum of 4 players must join each week to unlock these prizes. A Bronze crate will be added for the 2nd Runner-up for brackets of 8 to 16 players.**

The Weekly Duels will consist of 4 single-elimination rounds of 1-vs-1 Best-of-3 matches based on a seeding bracket, with a maximum of 16 participants each week. In line with the Duel Cup, players will be self-scheduling their duels with their designated opponents in a race to the finish, with the winner advancing to the next round.

Each round of duels will have a deadline, so make sure you secure a race time with your opponent within the given time, and report their match results via our #tournament channel on Discord (players are advised to take screenshots of every race’s end result).

How does a player qualify for the 16 participants of the Weekly Duels? You can secure a spot by clocking a fast time in Track 1 of our Battle Racers arena — the top 16 players with the fastest times reported will be invited to participate in the following week’s Duels. Screenshot your best performance and send it to us in our #Tournaments channel. You may submit multiple screenshots,* but we’ll only consider one fastest time submission for you, so please make sure you send in your best!

The first Weekly Duels event is set to begin next week, but the Time Trials Qualifier will begin now! From today until Sunday, Oct. 4, 2020 4:00PM CET, you can start submitting your fastest time screenshots on Track 1 to try and qualify for the Weekly Duels.

The schedule for the upcoming 1st Weekly Duel is as follows:

Good luck! We’ll announce the 16 qualifiers and their seeding brackets based on the order of their times on Oct. 5, 2020, Monday 4:00PM CET.

UPDATE: Week 1 Time Trials Qualifier has been extended to until Oct. 6, 2020, Tuesday 4:00PM CET.**

Here are the complete mechanics:

I. Format

  1. 2-player Best-of-3 (with 2 AI players) Free-For-All Brackets
  2. Single stage elimination (winner advances to next leg)
  3. Round-winner is player with the higher finish (regardless of AI finish)

II. Self-Officiation and Scheduling

  1. The tournament is self-run and will require players to schedule their duels with their seeded opponents on their own, via the #Tournament channel in the Battle Racers Discord Server.
  2. Each leg will have a dedicated schedule within which players can complete their duels.
  3. Players are expected to report their final Best-of-3 scores with screenshots of each round’s race results in the same channel.
  4. Duel results will be reflected in a Bracket Update at the end of each round.
  5. Uncompleted duels by a tournament leg’s end-date/time will forfeit both players’ participation or advancement from further legs in the tournament.
  6. Players with non-present opponents will receive a bye for current leg and automatically advance to the next should there be evidence provided of the opponent’s commitment and non-compliance to an agreed schedule.
  7. The Battle Racers team reserves the right to adjudicate issues reported regarding scheduling as deemed necessary.

III. Seeding

  1. All registered players will be seeded in the order according to their Qualifier Time Trials results, fastest times descending.

IV. Qualifier Time Trials/Eligibility

  1. Players are required to race on Track 1 in the Battle Racers Arena and record their results via screenshots.
  2. Players must submit their record times in the #Tournament channel of the Battle Racers Discord.
  3. Your entry will be tied into your Discord ID.
  4. Players are required to have at least 1 Battle Racers part NFT to participate.
  5. The Top 16 fastest times will be qualified to participate in the Weekly Duels the following week.

V. Platform

VII. Communication
