Item pre-sale update: 213 ETH, snags, and solutions in 24 hours
Hello, racers! The Battle Racers item pre-sale has been live for 24 hours, and what an eventful first day it was. As of this posting, we‘ve sold 213 ETH worth of item crates so far!
If you were present right after we opened the gates, you probably experienced (or read about) a number of issues with purchasing and opening crates. Here’s a summary of what happened yesterday, and more importantly, the steps we are taking to fix them.
What were the issues that happened at launch?
- When we tried to go live yesterday at 10:00 PM (GMT+8), our website got blasted with over 10K hits from 300+unique users
- The site went down (“We broke the internet!”, someone joked on Discord), and we paused our smart contracts until the site went back up
- Everyone started buying and opening crates at the same time. Due to the high load, our minting API crashed while people were trying to open crates
- Unfortunately, that resulted in some crates getting lost without being opened
- We have since disabled opening of crates until we are sure we’ve fixed the issue
I lost a crate! What do I do and can I get it back?
- We are currently doing an audit of all lost crates. If this happened to you, please send your wallet information to us via this form so we can verify your transaction
- We will reissue the crates to all affected players within the next 24 hours
When can I open my crates?
- We temporarily disabled this feature while we are fixing the issue
- We plan to resume the opening of crates at the end of the 24-hour period, on May 23, Thursday, at 10:00am EDT (GMT-4), 7:00am PDT (GMT-7), and 4:00pm CET (GMT+2).
It sucks to be an early buyer and not get to open my crates! What do I get for waiting?
- We sincerely apologize for the delay — we are frustrated, too!
- To compensate for all these issues, we will airdrop a special item (to be determined) to EVERYONE who bought a crate on Day 1. We will send the item after the pre-sale ends
- We are also extending our Day 1 discount (15% off all crate prices) for another 24 hours!
- The new Early Bird Discounts are as follows:
15% on Day 1
15% on Day 2
9% on Day 3
7% on Day 4
5% on Day 5–7

Is it safe to buy crates or should I wait?
- Yes, you can buy crates — especially since we extended our Day 1 15% discount another 24 hours!
- Your crates will be stored in your Inventory page on the website until we reactivate the ability to open them
- Our number of crates is still limited, so it’s possible for them to get sold out if you wait too long
- So far, only 95 parts have been minted — and NO LEGENDARIES have been found
