Parts trading launch, tournaments, and a giveaway!

UPDATE: Parts trading will be relaunching on Thursday, December 10, 2020 10PM GMT+8 (9AM EST; 3PM CET).

Attention, racers!

We announced in our latest monthly update that parts trading is going live on OpenSea on Monday, October 21, 2019 10PM GMT+8 (10AM EST; 4PM CET). To celebrate, we’re holding a crate giveaway in Discord and Twitter, as well as announcing our official tournament prize pool! Read on for more info.

Trade your car parts on OpenSea

Next week, you will be able to trade your car parts with other players on OpenSea, the largest marketplace for crypto collectibles backed on the Ethereum blockchain. You can sell duplicate or unwanted parts, or hunt for missing parts to complete your set. Who knows, you might even be able to score a deal on a Legendary!

How to trade car parts on OpenSea**

Trading should be easy as 1–2–3 (or 3–2–1?) — just go to your Inventory page on the Battle Racers website to choose the part you own and would like to sell.

Make sure you have a cryptocurrency wallet like MetaMask set up. At the same time, you need to have enough ETH in your wallet to purchase parts from other players! You can also use MANA, the Ethereum token used in Decentraland where we are currently building the game. (Read more: How to connect your MetaMask account to the Battle Racers website.)

We are excited to see which car parts you’ll all put up for sale on the marketplace!

Crate giveaway

An epic milestone such as this one definitely entails a bit of celebration, so we will also be having a little giveaway for our community! Two lucky users will each win one (1) Bronze crate.

To join the giveaway, you can do either (or both) of these steps:

  • Join the Battle Racers Discord (if you haven’t already) and standby for the giveaway happening later today, October 17
  • Follow our official Twitter and retweet this announcement with a comment and hashtag #BattleRacersTradingLive

There will only be one (1) winner from each platform to be determined using the raffle bot on Discord, and drawn randomly from the list of retweeters on Twitter during launch day, Monday, October 21, 11PM GMT+8 (11AM EST; 5PM CET).

More trades, bigger tournament prize pool

Here’s a breakdown of our parts trading fees. We tried our best to keep the fees as low as possible, and we’ll be using a portion of the proceeds to fund official tournaments in the future:

Where do trading fees go?

Each sale or purchase would require a 3.99% transaction fee: 2.99% goes to OpenSea and Battle Racers, while 1% is added to the prize pool for future official tournaments.

Yes, that’s right! We’re announcing the official tournament prize pool!

While you’re all assembling the best cars from parts you have traded, we are also preparing for tournaments that will be happening when the game is live. It’s always better to start planning early, right? The more you trade, the bigger the prize pool will be. And when you think about it, the money essentially goes back to you! (If you win, of course.)

So what are you waiting for? Better check that inventory and get ready to trade! Follow us here on Medium or join our Discord to get the latest news on Battle Racers. And please clap or share if you like this article. Thanks for reading!
