We want to make the lives of Dota 2 tournament organizers and players easier. We’re doing just that with our new automatic lobby creation and score reporting. From the time a player joins a tournament to when their first match is complete, we’re ensuring the entire experience goes smoothly. Let’s dive in with some explanatory screenshots, shall we?
After the organizer has published their tournament with the correct tournament type, region, and mode, Battlefy will automatically create the appropriate match lobbies for teams once they’ve matched up against each other in the bracket. Below, you’ll see what a match page looks like from a player perspective. Notice the instruction modal!
Once “Start Match” is selected, Battlefy then creates the game lobby automatically, and notifies players of the lobby details and that they can open Dota 2 to accept the invite and start playing their match.
Once in game, players will receive an invite from Battlebot (don’t worry, he’s with us). Players then accept Battlebot’s invitation to get into their match against their opponent. Still with us here? Almost done!
Upon accepting Battlebot’s lobby invitation, players will be entered into their appropriate match lobby with the correct settings. Battlebot will join the lobby chat to provide assistance to both teams.
Once both teams are ready, any player can type “!start” into the lobby chat, and Battlebot will start the match. Pretty simple!
Upon match completion, Battlefy will automatically advance the winning team to the next round of the bracket. All the players have to do is finish their match, go back to the bracket, and see who their next opponent is. No more worrying about cheating or disputes, we’ve got it all covered with automatic, verified score reporting. Check out the pretty green check mark!
