As we approach the holiday season the team’s been hard at work improving some of the core aspects of the Battlefy platform. We’re exploring new features to assemble esports leagues and should have an initial version of that to show off in the near future. We also made a bunch of general improvements to the platform — like the addition of Discord to orgs, the ability to resolve disputes without an admin, and more customization on the Battlefy homepage.

WHAT’S NEW?

Feature Updates

  • Collegiate League of Legends. We’re super excited to be partnering with Riot Games on another awesome season of collegiate League of Legends. Building this year’s portal for the competitive collegiate circuit gave us the opportunity to explore a ton of new features around esports leagues. More info on this next month — but we plan to bring leagues to Battlefy in a significant way.
  • Companion App Improvements. Building off the launch of our companion app last month, we’re working with the community to improve the experience and add more features. This includes camera integration in match chat, improved screenshot management, match dispute cancelling, and numerous small updates. We have some big additions on the way as well. (but more on that later.)
  • Wumpus (Discord) for Organizers. We know Discord is used by almost all organizers to communicate with their community. To make this easier, we added functionality to add discord links to an organization page so players can easily join their Discord community.
  • More Homepage Updates! We realized that once a tournament is joined, it’s actually a bit difficult to find it again, and can be easy to forget. Now when you join a tournament, it will show up on the Battlefy homepage when you get close to the start date.

General Improvements

  • Admins can now create Hearthstone tournaments with Standard/Wild options.
  • Improved the general user experience for deck bans in Hearthstone.
  • Added functionality for admins to manage uploaded player screenshots.
  • Added the ability for players to cancel their own disputes without admin assistance.
  • Players can now delete teams in the team management page.
  • Solved a minor problem which caused Match Chat to be missing in some ladder formats.
  • Resolved an issue where swiss brackets created duplicate standings.
  • Improved the user experience around bracket creation for tournament organizers.
  • Fixed a URL manipulation issue that allowed people to get around region restrictions.
  • Improved the FIFA 20 registration flow to fix some visual bugs.
  • Solved several bugs with match scheduling which made it difficult to accept a reschedule request from another user within allowed time.
  • Updated Facebook account login to fix a bug which caused the login box to disappear for some people.
  • Resolved some reporting issues around Shadowverse community prizing which accidentally showed extra winners per tournament.

We are always looking to improve, and community feedback is important to us. If you have some direct feedback about our features, platform, or anything else — just send us an email at feedback@battlefy.com, or shoot us a DM on social.
