Are you a web developer who loves news? Come join our team.
BBC News Labs has six open positions for flexible and imaginative developers with an enthusiasm for media.
We’re growing our team to support BBC World Service as it undergoes its biggest expansion since the 1940s, launching 11 new language services and committing to a global audience of 500 million weekly users by 2022. Successful applicants will have opportunities to work on prototypes for both UK and international audiences.
About Our Team
We’re a small, multi-discipline team experimenting with new approaches to journalism and prototyping new tools for journalists. Some of our latest projects include chat bots for Telegram and Messenger, a multi-lingual video production tool and a transcript-driven media enrichment platform. You can find a full list of our projects on our website.
We explore scalable opportunities at the intersection of journalism, technology and data. In addition to working closely with the BBC’s News and R&D departments, we also collaborate with news organisations, and academic and research institutions globally.
