Week 1 - Music Genre Classification with Machine Learning
Hello! In this blog, We will talk about our Machine Learning semester project, weekly. We are students at Hacettepe University, Ebru Yardım, Batuhan Şenyüzlü, Osman Fatih Çakır.
This post will be an introduction to our project. Let’s start!
Music is part of our lives. Some people like jazz while some people like rock or some people like blues while some people like hip-hop. Common point is that Most people listen to music maybe to relax, maybe to have fun or to dance.
While music has such a big place in our lives, We wanted to use this concept in our project. So, We decided to make a music genre classification project.
Our goal in this project, to determine whether the genre of the music in the dataset is what it is.
Dataset
You can see our dataset here. It includes 1000 music samples of 30 seconds duration. There are 10 different genres and each genre has 100 samples. Also, we have a csv file that includes features of samples.
