[Week 2 — Buildings in the City]

First week we discussed about project with teacher. We had decided to make another project because it is a bit out of scope of research area and a bit old fashioned. We researched different topics and datasets. So at the end of the researches we decided to work on prediction origin of buildings.

At this point the second week blog covers first week.

As known in Turkey there is a lot of different climates. Then because of that there is several different architecture types and constructs. For example in in the north of Turkey there is wooden structures influences. In spite of that in the east of Turkey stone constructions influences.

In this project we are going to train our system with building pictures. Then we will test the images to where it can be placed that building. At this point we will predict each 81 cities in Turkey or some specialized regions. Actually our working area is only limited to living spaces. This project not concludes significant places like brigdes, monuments and mosques etc.. We haven’t decides which classification method we will use.

Now we are going to collect our dataset like above. There is no ready dataset for this purpose. So collect our pictures on the internet. We will decide which method use for classification and feature extraction.

It’s hard to preapare a significant dataset. So we will have to work on this part a bit more.s
