And so our adventure begins! After spending a glorious couple of weeks in Noosa with Ben’s family and 5 days back in Sunnybank, Brisbane packing and preparing for our big trip, we have finally landed in South Korea.

We arrived at Brisbane international airport at 5:30am yesterday morning with my parents, who are on their way to Singapore with both my grand ma’s before we all meet in Oxford. After a smooth check-in, we made our way through security and down to the gate with just enough time to spare for a coffee and a chat on the phone to Ben’s parents.

At 8:25am our flight took off with Ben and I settled in comfortably for the 9 hour flight. The flight was comfortable and the movies were entertaining enough, however we were both glad to not be getting straight onto another flight to Europe.

When we landed in Seoul, my friend Leila met us with a warm smile and a huge hug. It was comforting to have someone welcome us on arrival and show us the way to our hostel. By the time we were settled into our hostel and had made our way down the street for some dinner at the local Korean BBQ it was 8pm (9pm Brisbane time).

With our belly’s full and satisfied of delicious pork shoulder and kelp noodles, we were now ready for a shower and a good nights sleep.

Day 2 Begins

We are now on the train to Gwangju where we will be staying for a night in a traditional style home which has been made into a guest house. We’ll check back in tomorrow to let you know what exciting things we get up to.
