Stephanie Ebert was born and raised in St. Johns, Michigan with her parents Alain and Darcy Ebert. She attended St. Johns High School where she participated in volleyball, dance and volunteered regularly. In the spring of 2015, she graduated with high honors. After finishing high school, she decided to further her education at Central Michigan University where she studies hospitality.

When Ebert began her first year at Central Michigan University, she thought she wanted to be a veterinarian. She has a passion for animals and thought she would dedicate her life to being one who saves them. However, after participating in a job shadow at a veterinarian clinic she realized it was not the best career choice.

Ebert then began searching for what she wanted to do for her major, she had loved planning events and leading functions during high school. When Ebert took her first hospitality class, she knew this was what she wanted to do for her career. “Hospitality just seemed like the right fit for me,” said Ebert. Immediately after taking this course she went to her academic advisor and declared to be a hospitality major. According to Ebert, she now enjoys going to her classes and knows she made the right choice by choosing hospitality.

Ebert has achieved many goals at Central Michigan University aside from her academic performance. Her sophomore year she wanted to branch out and meet new people. She decided to join a sorority. After going through recruitment in the fall she found a new home with Alpha Chi Omega. Through her sorority she has participated in many philanthropic events and given back to her Mount Pleasant community. She also has had leadership positions within her sorority such as Recruitment Assistant and Sisterhood Chair. Ebert has achieved a lot through her sorority as well as made lifelong friends.

In February, Ebert accepted an internship in Denver, Colorado, working for the hotel “Marriot ALoft.” Ebert has always wanted to move to Colorado ever since she was young. However, getting an internship in Denver was not an easy task. Ebert reached out to her professor, Nick Hussein for help. Hussein aided her along the way and challenged her to succeed. Ebert plans to graduate this spring from the College of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality.

Ebert has enjoyed her time here at Central Michigan University and is so thankful for the memories she has made here. She has made wonderful connections with her professors, given back to her Mt. Pleasant community and has achieved her dream of getting a position in her profession in Denver, Colorado. Ebert is just one example of CMU Chippewas who are achieving their dreams all over the United States.
