EvidenZ issued 14,500 certificates on Avalanche (AVAX) for the largest university in France

EvidenZ is the most widely deployed blockchain certification framework in the world for higher education. Thanks to BCdiploma, the French startup is working with ESCP Business School, TOEIC, Berkeley, and Binance among our clients as well as 120 institutions around the world.

Convinced that the future lies in a crosschain world, the company recently signed a brand new client that will change our adoption.

EvidenZ is live on Avalanche

In a few words, EvidenZ offers to generate and store digital certificates directly on the blockchain. Certificates are completely configurable in terms of content and design, and the end result is a simple one-click url link.

All data is anonymized and directly stored on the Ethereum blockchain (ETH) or Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Now, EvidenZ is adding a new string to our bow, with the possibility for institutions to issue directly on the Avalanche C-chain.

The University of Lille has chosen to digitize its students’ diplomas on the blockchain, choosing a greener, more environmentally friendly blockchain , while guaranteeing the highest level of decentralization and security.

Initially, 14,500 certificates were therefore issued on Avalanche. The objective being, in the short term, to issue 25,000 diplomas per year, for all students of the University of Lille.

Why did we choose Avalanche ?

The members of the Blockchain Education France working group, also led by Perrine de Coëtlogon, have set an essential condition that the blockchain chosen uses the consensus protocol that consumes the least energy possible.

**Avalanche is the fastest smart contracts platform in the blockchain industry, as measured by time-to-finality, and has the most validators securing its activity of any proof-of-stake protocol.**

Indeed, EvidenZ issues its certificates directly on the blockchain using our utility token, the Blockchain Certified Data Token aka $BCDT, part of which is destroyed with each issuance of a diploma. Although Ethereum (ETH) still has all the qualities of a decentralized blockchain today, the costs of issuing certificates are dependent on network fees that continue to explode.

EvidenZ therefore seeks to extend the field of possibilities, by becoming a “crosschain”. First with a successful migration to BSC, then to Avalanche.

It all started here a few weeks ago with the first EvidenZ certificate issued on the Avalanche C-chain testnet.

Avalanche is a good alternative to the Ethereum network. Indeed, Avalanche is one of the cheapest blockchains in terms of costs and has an environmentally friendly protocol. The finality times are very short, and Avalanche has more and more validators securing its activity and guaranteeing the decentralization of the protocol.

Over the past few weeks, we have seen a large number of Dapps migrate to Avalanche. It was time for EvidenZ to remain our sector’s leader on blockchain technology by offering our customers an additional solution.

It is also a unique opportunity for EvidenZ to extend its ecosystem to other blockchains, by bringing light on a unique use case in the crypto ecosystem, far from yet another fork of a “new” DeFi Dapp.

EvidenZ is definitely a unique project in the crypto universe. Supported by Microsoft since we started, our impressive list of prestigious schools and universities that have joined EvidenZ is the living proof of the project’s enormous potential.

We are one of the most concrete use cases of blockchain in real life.
