I Read ~60 Books in 365 Days [All Books Read in 2024]
The Annual Book List
This year I read 40+% less than the 100-ish books that I usually average per year.
There are a few reasons for that:
- First, podcasts. I’ve switched most of my media consumption from books to podcasts.
- Another thing is that I’ve been spending a bit more time on other pursuits, from language learning to re-reading the Bible with friends, and that’s taken more time.
And also I’ve skimmed many more books than the 60 listed below, but I only include the following books in the list if I’ve read at least 80–90% of the books (most are 100%).
Most of the nonfiction books I read as ebooks, some more than once. Most of the fiction books I listened to on audiobook, or did a hybrid of listening/reading.
Based on a cursory review of my reading habits this year, it appears I have been reading more religion/theology when it comes to nonfiction, and more mysteries for fiction.
This isn’t wholly surprising ~ I tend to think a bit more philosophically than many people I know (which isn’t always…or even usually…a good thing, but there you have it), and I like books that are clever, which usually leads me to the mystery aisles of the bookstores/libraries.
