Are you and your partner drifting apart because you’re not making time for each other? After years together are you finding that the romance is waning?

Here are some simple tips for getting the romance back on track in your relationship. Adding a romantic touch can truly ignite the passion in your partnership, making you happier.

Romantic idea #1: Notice the little things

Taking the time to appreciate and notice the little things your partner does can make your spouse feel happier. Take a moment out of your day to tell them you love them, or thank them with a cuddle for making the bed. For an extra romantic touch, why not leave your girlfriend a love letter in her handbag? She’ll find it when she’s out and about, bringing a smile to her face, no matter where she is.

Romantic idea #2: Take time to talk

We often lead busy lives and don’t make the time for each other. But it’s time together that we should be prioritising. Take the time to sit down each night and eat dinner together, without the TV or your phone distracting you. Add candles for an extra romantic touch. And remember — it’s not the gifts we buy that are important — it’s dedicating our time towards our loved ones that is the biggest romantic gesture.

Romantic idea #3: Keep it physical

By keeping it physical, we don’t mean simply upping the number of times you have sex, although this too has its benefits! Specifically though, we’re talking about other ways of touching like kissing, hugging or even holding hands — all touching is important in a relationship. Make time for tender moments, even if it’s just kissing each other before you fall asleep each night. Keep the romance alive by taking 10 or 20 minutes once a week to give your girlfriend or wife a relaxing massage.

Romantic idea #4: Reintroduce date night

When you and your girlfriend started dating, you would’ve made the time to go out and have a meal or see a movie. As relationships progress, sometimes we let these important evenings fall by the wayside. But we shouldn’t — they’re one of the keys to a happy relationship. Reintroduce date night and prepare a special evening as a surprise. Your girlfriend will be flattered that you made the effort to impress her. Go one step further by making these date nights a regular event on your calendar.

Romantic idea #5: Do something together

Taking up a hobby you can enjoy with your girlfriend is a great way to ensure you spend more time together on a regular basis. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, or perhaps you both want to take an art class, ignite the romance by booking in some lessons or classes. It’s a thoughtful gift that’ll benefit your relationship for months to come.

Take the time to make a little romantic effort and before long your partner will realise what a HeroBoyfriend you are.
