Introducing BE: A Journal of Black Experimental and Interdisciplinary Work

Archived with CUNY Academic Works, BE: A Journal of Black Experimental and Interdisciplinary Work was first developed as a Mellon Foundation funded project with the University of Kansas (Black Book Interactive Project) and the University of Illinois (AfroPWW 2 Publishing without Walls). This new (or revamped) publishing project, includes a wonderful team of advisors and two brilliant contributing editors, Tara Christina and Ahmad Wright…We realize we need spaces to experiment and think through the complexities of race and class. After hearing insightful discussions at AWP and other places (please see below poster), we’ve been thinking about how experimental work can help us avoid Hotep-ism and enter truly revolutionary and futuristic Black thought. We’re eager for more conversations…Please send your submissions to be.journal.2023@gmail.com, in care of Rochelle Spencer, co-editor.
