Real-Time Scenarios — Learning Scrum (#1)
I am starting this series to discuss real-time scenarios to understand Scrum and Agile better. I will share my understanding of the topic and seeks your help and feedback to get different perspectives.
Here is the first scenario —
One of the Scrum events is the Sprint Review. How does the Sprint Review enable empiricism? What would the impact be if some development team members were absent?
My Take on it -
The Sprint Review is a formal event prescribed by Scrum, with invitees being the Scrum team and the key stakeholders.
The Product Owner clarifies completed and pending product backlog items while the development team showcases the accomplished Increment to stakeholders, promoting transparency.
All attendees collaborate on what has been done and share the feedback (inspection), which is added to the product backlog. Also, they collaborate to discuss what next to be done to optimize value (adaptation).
Suppose some members need to attend the sprint review. In that case, they may miss critical information provided by the stakeholders, and the team might need more knowledge to clarify the questions asked by stakeholders.
Also, they may lose the opportunity to get critical insights from stakeholders like “How is the marketplace?”, “Next possible opportunities”.
Don’t forget to share your valuable feedback! :)
