The internet and social media have completely redefined what it takes for businesses to be successful in today’s digital marketplace. And because of the visual nature of the internet, businesses are now identified as “brands.”

Websites are still evolving and becoming more significant than they were even 15-years ago. Social Media is a Goliath and Facebook is still leading the charge, despite claims to the contrary.

If brands want to succeed and stay competitive, there are 3 essential digital tools that every brand must utilize.

These 3 brand-building “must-haves” will help build a loyal customer base in this globalized digital marketplace.

Start with the list and keep reading for more “not-so-obvious” explanations on each.

The Trinity of Brand Building:

1. Invest in a [Good] Website

2. Integrate Social Media

3. Create Interesting or Valuable Content

1. Invest in a [Good] Website

If you have a crappy, poorly designed, or outdated website, customers won’t want to buy your products or do business with you — bottom line. You may have a few coming now, but you won’t be able to create “customer loyalty.”

Websites are like storefronts or offices; if they look cheap, your brand looks cheap. As soon as a competitor with a professional website comes along, your customers will be higher prices to buy from them, because they will “appear” to have a superior product or service.

If you have a website now, would you buy from you? If not, get a decent website. It doesn’t cost much and some are even free!

2. Integrate Social Media

Most businesses have a Facebook Page and most FAIL to integrate their Facebook page (or Instagram, Twitter, Google+)into the rest of their online tools and strategy!

Your Facebook Page should be configured to drive potential customers back to your website, by enabling the “Call to Action” button. And your website should have social buttons that point to all your social media pages.

More importantly, all of your social media accounts should have a purpose, namely, to send customers to your website or physical business location.

Don’t just loiter on social media, INTEGRATE!

3. Create Interesting Content

Content is simply interesting or valuable information that your target customer would want to view or read. Start by telling your brand’s story through multiple short blog posts on your website.

Remember, if you start a blog you can develop a nice library of information for future customers to browse through. This helps build customer loyalty through creating a connection with your brand.

Blog don’t all have to be written, video storytelling draws people in, so get creative. Get new customers interested in who your brand or business is and what it has to offer.

Remember to…

Keep your social media pages active by posting something at least weekly so that potential customers become familiar with your brand.

When you’re ready, drop a few dollars on a little social media advertising and see what happens. Start with these basics and then build from there!
