It’s the time when you want to switch your tank tops for cardigans, and your lemonade for spiced latte. While you like having new choices for yourself, you will notice the transition happening in the outside world too: the leaves turning yellow, the sunshine sprinkling multiple hues, days fading into nights (the least favorite though), the nature bursting into the ultimate ripeness, and so on. It’s the autumn that brings fashion and flavor, and you get prepared to breathe in autumnal air.

As you are preoccupied with devising a perfect plan, it’s easy to get engrossed in one and overlook the others. For your benefit, I’ve prepared a must-do list that will help you soak everything up before they freeze in harsh winter. So, gulp a cup of hot chocolate, throw yourself on the comfy couch, and get into the groove!

The list of things to do in autumn that would help you enjoy the season

APPLE PICKING IS A MUST

You may not have been a fan of apples before, but I can assure you that you may find yourself unable to resist trying a bucket of delicious and juicy apples at this time. As the air gets rich with the aroma of sweet pumpkins all around, the ripe apples enhancing that sweetness in every Orchard are a catch. If you want to savor them all at once, hopping on Orchards is the best way to get them. You can find a variety of apples to make your seasonal festivity sugary. So, if you haven’t visited yet, don’t wait anymore. Hit the Orchard and track down the best apples before they get out of stock!!

SMELL A FRESHLY BAKED APPLE PIE

Since you’ve got a bucket full of apples, what’s next? Do you have anything specific in mind? How about a buttery, cinnamon-flavored apple pie to appease your soul on a cozy autumn evening? Sounds yummy, huh? Fall is that time of the year when you can give yourself and your family a happy treat and what can be better than a savory apple pie in a homely atmosphere? Be prepared to get dusted with a fair amount of flour. Don’t forget to squeeze in some love and kindness in it!

PLAN A FALL DRIVE

To go for a fall drive through winding roads surrounded by the shadows of gigantic trees, you wait throughout the year. The soothing view of vibrant leaves twirling in the wind and finally touching the ground to carpet streets everywhere- all of these are worth anticipating, right? As the bountiful nature is prepared to bestow all its beauty on us, why not enjoy nature’s generosity? Make a list of the parks displaying fall foliage around your place, grab your backpack, put on high-heeled boots, pack some snacks, and seize this opportunity to immerse in nature for a day. If you are wondering where to go for fall foliage, here are some Local areas to look for.

GO ON A HIKE

The summer is gone, and the sun is not heating up anymore. It’s the perfect time for you to track down the best hiking trails around your place and boost up some energy to do hiking. Walking down a dense forest trail with hundreds of wildlife watching you is an exciting experience, isn’t it? and the crispy leaves enveloped in mist beneath your feet make that walk even more enchanting (the silence around the forest is captivating too). I’m sure you don’t want to skip any of these. Pick up all your belongings and set out for an adventure. If you see any waterfall, stop by to take pictures. Here are some of my favorite waterfall trails in my place that lead to wonderful cascades.

SCOOP OUT A PUMPKIN

Unsplash Image

Last year, I had fun scooping out the pumpkin gut from a ripe pumpkin, for I wanted to make a Jack-o-lantern. Though Halloween is a bit far, I’m eagerly waiting to do it this year too and I’m sure you are too. Among many things for which we are a fan of autumn, pumpkin carving falls first on the list. We love the entire ritual of looking for ripe pumpkins in a pumpkin patch and giving them a nice personality to display on our front door. It’s best to start searching for pumpkins beforehand to get the best one. Once you find it, bring your creative self out and decide which design you want on your pumpkin. Let me know what your favorite pumpkin face is.

DIY A HALLOWEEN STAFF

Decking up houses with seasonal stuff is one of the celebrated fall activities. Whether it is a store-brought beautiful floral wreath or a custom-made pumpkin pillow, you want every corner of your room to bask in the touch of festivity. Instead of making your pockets lighter with all the shopping for decor, how about spurring your creativity to make something budget-friendly? Maybe a paper pumpkin craft looks good for your kid’s bedroom or a creepy monster for your front porch, or hey, how about a cappuccino with a spooky ghost face on the top? If you’re getting tempted to do it, try some cool DIY from We Craft Around that offers awesome ideas for seasonal home decor.

PLAN FOR OUTDOOR GATHERING

Autumn is all about relishing a hot bowl of chili, breathing around a pot of pumpkin pie, sprucing up a lofty table with fanciful dinnerware sets, and giggling along your favorite faces. Above all, it’s about a friendly family meeting. No matter how swamped you are at your work, you will steal a tiny portion of your time to join in the laughter and merriment with your near and dear ones. Yes, it’s the season to get in the flow of enjoyment and love everything around you. Include a family dinner in your must-do autumn activities and make the most out of the time.

GIVE YOUR HOME A MAKEOVER

Your home is where all your festivity begins. While you’re prepared to get cozy this season, your home needs some revamping too. Wrap up the chiffon curtains, and floral throws to fancy your abode with cozy knits, warm quilts, and furry slippers. If you are a lover of flowers and candles, stock up on some lavender, sandalwood, vanilla, Rose scented candles to light them up next to an autumn bouquet on your center table. Then, get some pumpkin decor for indoors and outdoors to give your home a feel of seasonal cheer. Check out some deals on Amazon and add them to your wish list now!

UPGRADE YOUR WARDROBE

With the advent of autumn, you feel the immediate need to reorganize your closet. You can’t put on spaghetti straps, and shorts. You need some cozy outfits that will be your autumn basics, right? From a morning meeting to a comfy sleepover, you want to feel comfortable and cozy in all attire. Sweaters, full-sleeve t-shirts, flannel jackets, and a comfy pair of leggings seem just right to go for every occasion. Thinking of what to wear for an evening brunch? GLOW IN SUNSET

Unsplash Image

It’s totally fine if you don’t get up early to get a glimpse of the sunrise, but you should always stop by for twilight. As nature showers so many colors on us, the sun does not lag to exhibit its brilliance. Staring at the evening sky resembles painting a blank canvas with red, yellow, and orange colors and nothing can be more spectacular than this. It’s amazing to see how beautiful nature can be. Sneak some time from your hectic schedule to bathe in the colors of a descended sun and put a nice end to your day.
