Dear Summer: See you later
Experience more of the seasons, time, and your surroundings. Experience daily life more.
During my walk today, the sidewalk sign with the departure times of the city’s small train caught my eye.
I smiled when I read the handwritten “Bis später(in German)/See you later” note on the sign, which I guess was the artwork of a city dweller who wanted to add some humor to city life.
This cute vehicle, which strolls slowly around the city full of tourists, does not normally serve when autumn comes.
On this occasion, I remembered that we had to say “See you later” after a few weeks to this cute train, which suddenly softened our rush on beautiful spring and summer days when we saw it. Also, to the other things of the summer too.
We are moving towards the end of summer in the northern hemisphere.
In fact, we still have time to say that the summer is over because the official end date of it is September 21.
Maybe there are those of you who have already said goodbye to the sun.
I live in a cold climate now, but we are still relatively close to the equator.
So, I experience “Indian summer” days where I am.
I’m happy with that.
The streets are still full of liveliness.
Yesterday, a 3–4-year-old boy was gliding down the gentle slope with his bike, while his father, who was running behind him in a hurry, was hiddenly smiling with great joy.
For a short time, the kid had the pleasure of getting his own flow.
Summers are the same for me.
The days when I am kind of free of the time shaping us…
In recent years, although I have taken precautions for hot weather, I have not been seen complaining about the summer.
Ice-teas, ice creams, light clothes, slippers, my sun hat, sitting comfortably everywhere I find in the cities, the pleasure of drinking cold water, the increase in my carefreeness, my pleasures by the sea…
I’ll tell them all “See you later” until next summer.
And beautiful sun.
I’m very used to it because of the Agean climate I was born into.
I’ll probably see it where I live now too from time to time, though.
Reading a book in the parks, the café near the fountain, the feeling of slowing down in summer, the increasing value of the morning chill, the long daylight, the shade of trees, fresh summer fruits, flowers…
To everything about the summer until next summer: “Goodbye, see you later”.
Warm autumn breezes began to blow. They change the season a little more every day without us noticing.
If you have sun before the change is complete, take action.
Remember, until September 21st, you still have time to say “see you later” to your favorite ones about the summer.
And then we need to be ready for the other seasons.
