It was National Matchmakers Day (August 31) and I was talking with one of the best. Rachel Maclynn, a business psychologist, set up her own dating agency Vida in 2011. After winning numerous industry awards, she relaunched it as the global brand Maclynn in 2022. Rachel estimates that 80% of her clients end up in long-term relationships, typically finding a partner by the fifth or sixth date. Most years Rachel attends ‘a run of weddings’ that her agency has helped to bring about.
The Maclynn agency has a presence in numerous cities around the world, including Zurich, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and London, where the office is ‘three minutes walk from the Ritz’. Clients tend to be ‘highly successful in life, whether through creative or artistic excellence, philanthropy, business, academia, or extensive exploration of the globe,’ as one post on the website puts it.
