There are people who mistake social media for truth, chat with entities they don’t know identify them for real people and trust and communicate personal details to everyone, incapable of distinguishing bots and humans.
They wander tormented on social media in this arid arena of feelings, hyper-connected but increasingly alone in search of a hand to caress or just a face to observe. They express their feelings without taking precautions, without any protection, and are sure of approval that most of the time will not arrive.
Desperate waiting for attention.
Then there are those who embrace technology, tout court, sure it won’t hurt, and approve a pervasive artificial intelligence capable of profiling and influencing people (but weren’t there already so-called influencers for that?) because progress can’t be stopped and the human being race must continue.
Who cares at what price? Technology will solve all problems and the oracle will indicate the solution to all our ills, perhaps we will no longer be able to understand it, but we will certainly follow it. We will probably lose control, but we will live lightly cradled by co-bots capable of doing everything we do now.
Once the dexterity that made us intelligent has disappeared the specialization that makes us unable to understand the variety of the context in which we live has increased.
Good at little, deficient at everything.
Virtual reality will take us to unknown worlds, more captivating than harsh reality and we will never want to go back. Locked up in our homes we will lose the ability to relate to the neighbor next door and the neighbor will only become the interpretation of our propensities. Reality will take on contours defined only by our perceptions without ever arriving at a serious, real, and all the more necessary comparison.
Antisocial with no choice.
Utopias are missing replaced by looming dystopias and this society of digitally demented people, in which the democracy of ignorance is in force, is preparing for the next involution: the one that will raise mediocrity as an example and make everyone equal and without tension.
The world has lost its memory and plays around with daily amenities in search of meaning that it will never find without a different approach to knowledge.
Everyone talks, many blather and few think.
