Four Changes Medium Could Make For The Better

I think we’d all agree, we deserve a break.

1. An open post where genuine, hardworking bloggers can leave the names of bots and ‘bloggers’ we all know to be abusing AI.
2. Remove the 30 seconds limit to get paid. In reality, a Partner Program member could read your story for 29 seconds and you’d receive nothing. One second more however, and let’s say for whatever reason, yours was the only story they read that month, you’d earn $5! A five dollar difference for a single seconds read time, one word: absurd! God forbid it was a FOM, congrats, you just missed out on $13 for the sake of one second.
3. Find a way to reinclude claps comments and highlights as earnings metrics. They’ve got the tech to weed out people who’s aim is to abuse these things. Make life a bit more fun (and profitable) for us all. We work hard for the platform, I don’t think it’s a big ask.
4. I’m hoping the comments will be full of suggestions. After 24 hours I will put the ones that makes the most sense in at number’s four, five, six and however many seem like they’d affect things positively with the writers name’s clickable, hopefully bringing some unexpected member reads and new followers for the Contributors.
