How Loosening Stuck Emotion Relieves Writer’s Block
Sometimes when I sit down to write, I want to flee. I feel trapped and unwilling to let out what’s inside. It’s awful, as you can imagine. If I flee, the feeling builds, and that’s worse. If I stay and force whatever’s stuck to come out, it may come out as rage or as garbage because it’s just emotional sludge that has no form yet. Either way, it’s usually not all that productive.
