Nothin’ But Blue Skies Do I See
Pause here for a moment of respite from the ‘crazymindworries’ Do you hear the birds sing

Do you hear the birds this morning? They are singing and singing.
We can pause together and listen.
Did you see the sky? Yes, it is blue —
Blue skies smilin’ at me
Nothin’ but blue skies do I see
Bluebirds singin’ a song
Nothin’ but blue skies from now on- Willie Nelson
But what blue! Gentle and luminous and holding the clouds so softly.
An observation: while I am looking at the sky, this is where my mind goes:
Nice blue, how to describe it? Baby blue, like the color on the laundry detergent container and toilet paper packaging. Smart branding. How would I brand this? How do I brand myself? Wait, back to the sky. Nice blue. Conveys softness and babies and, do I want to go into branding? Content writing, UX design? Not really, and maybe, and also I don’t know, I don’t know what I’m doing next. Look at the sky. Blue skies. Calming skies. Do I want a baby? Not relevant now. I don’t know; I don’t know anything, and -
This is why we need to pause sometimes and listen to the birds. The voices inside the head are incessant.
I have been looking for work, which has me swinging crazily between highs to lows. I feel dramatic and erratic, and all of the insecurities and self-doubts are out to play.
But insecurity is boring. And self-doubt is self-absorbed. I don’t want that right now. I can choose where my attention is, and I want to choose differently.
It’s time to look outward. To listen to what is around outside.
Do you hear the birds?
And this sky, it is smiling.
