Social Media Pariah

I enjoy being on different social media platforms; each one offers something different with a different mix of people. While I have been a member of Facebook since the Farmville years (damn, I miss Farmville and all those fun little building games. I also had a Cafe World and the one with the store… oh! and remember Townville?), Facebook is something I use mainly to keep in contact with family and longtime friends.

I have friends on there that I have known since high school. We were all in our church’s youth group together and, therefore, grew up together. It’s great to see what’s happening in their lives now, and still stay in touch.

I also keep in contact with family members on there. I discovered I had 2 cousins I never knew existed on Facebook! We stay in close contact now. I’ve also reestablished my relationships to other cousins that live overseas that I have not had contact with since childhood.

So Facebook has its value.

A year and a half ago, I became active on LinkedIn. I had an account on there for about 10 years, but I never did anything with it. It just sat. Until I got a message in my email that Mr. Beautiful’s brother had been looking at my account. I don’t know his brother at all; never met him. So, I’m wondering if it’s really Mr…
