Her husband left the room to take care of stuff in the other room. As she looked around, nothing seemed familiar. Still, she stayed where she was. Would he return? Of course, he always did. As she waited, she spent time praying and slowly started to drift off to sleep.

Suddenly, she jerked awake. What was wrong? Something seemed out of place, but she couldn’t figure out what it was. She looked around and yawned. Well, she could always go back to sleep. While in the middle of moving around, her heart stood still.

Tendrils of the blanket slowly and quietly crept around her body. Terror filled her heart! As she opened her mouth to scream, nothing came out. Like pieces of a spider’s web, the blanket tightened in slight places here and there. Before long, her arms couldn’t move. Again, she tried to cry out and get her husband’s attention.

Help me, Sweetheart!

It felt like her voice stuck in her throat and the shout echoed in her mind. Horror grabbed hold of her in a new way. Would she die before her husband returned. Now that she couldn’t move her arms, the blanket softly and deliberately crept around her legs. Fear gently squeezed her breath until she felt like the gurgling of death was creeping into her lungs.
