How Cricket Has Evolved After 18th century

Hi all my dear readers, I hope you all are doing well in your life, today I am going to share a story about how the evolution took place in cricket after the 18th century.

The gentlemen ‘s game has taken various transformations after the 18th century.

The 19th century cricket played a crucial turn in the history of cricket, various laws were introduced during this time, and cricket witnessed global popularity due to its play.New formats were introduced in this era

Formats like test cricket and ODI cricket were introduced during this era.

The concepts of trophies and championships were also introduced during this phase.

The underarm bowling was changed by round arm and then overarm bowling. Both of them were considered controversial. In December 1889, eight-country cricket formed the official Country Championship which began in 1890.

The most famous player of the 19th century was W. G. Grace, who started his long and influential career in 1865.

The last two decades before the First World War was considered as the golden age of Cricket. There were many memorable players and memorable matches during these decades.

Cricket become International

In 1844, the first international match was played between clubs of Canada and the U.S.A. in Toronto where Canada won the match. English team went to North America for the first tour in cricket. British Empire was responsible for cricket established in Australia, the Caribbean, British India, New Zealand and South Africa.

In 1862, an English team made the first tour of Australia. The first Australian team to tour England in 1868.

The rivalry between Australia and England gave birth to the Ashes series in 1882. Test cricket began to expand when South Africa played against England.

Cricket in 20th century

The inter-war years were dominated by Australia’s Don Bradman, statistically the greatest Test batter of all time.

By this time Test, cricket continued to grow in other countries, where West Indies, New Zealand and India became full test members during the four years from 1928 to 1932.

During the Second World War test cricket matches never took place. The partition of India led Pakistan to get full membership in test cricket.

As teams continue to travel more often the spread of test cricket reaches 500 test matches.

Cricket entered a new era in 1963 when the English introduced the limited overs variant. Limited overs cricket was introduced. The first Limited Overs International was played in 1971, and the first limited overs Cricket World Cup in 1975. In the 21st century, a new limited overs form, Twenty20.

Sri Lanka joined the ranks in 1982. South Africa was banned by the ICC due to apartheid until 1992.

Bangladesh Team, who made their debut in 2000. The game itself also grew, with a new format made up of 20 over innings being created. This format is called T20 Cricket. The new shorter format also introduced franchise cricket, with new tournaments like the Indian Premier League and the Australian Big Bash League.

Afghanistan and Ireland became the full member of Test cricket in 2017.

21st-century cricket has given the legends of cricket like Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli Ricking pointing Shane Warne and many more.

Cricket is truly an emotion in India. people respect all these players and enjoy cricket matches Even when India won the T20 World Cup in 2024 India welcomed them so gracefully and made a parade for the Indian Cricket team in Marine Drive in Mumbai.
