I am an emotional person who experiences emotions intensely whether it’s sadness, joy or love. I am also very empathetic and can understand the emotions of people around me. I reflect and think deeply about everything that happens in my life. In my life, I value deep connections.

Here I am sharing my experiences of why emotionally reactive people suffer more in life.

When we process emotions deeply in life, we tend to overthink every simple thing that happens in life. By overthinking every small thing, we tend to increase the prolonged period of sadness and anxiety.

As I have mentioned earlier, we can understand the emotions of people around us which can be good and bad for us. We can easily make a profound relationship with others if we gain their trust. On the other side, we can also absorb the emotional sensitivity of others which can be draining.

The toughest thing is, many times I am not able to set boundaries because I do not want to hurt the feelings of other people. In doing so, sometimes I neglect my own need and desires.

In addition to that, due to high emotional sensitivity, I always had high expectations from all my relationships. I always wanted that I want to create deep and meaningful relationships with my loved ones. However, not all the time every one want a relationship like this.

On the other side, when I invest my time, effort and energy in any relationship I want to make it work and make it extraordinary. When these high expectations are not met, it is quite disappointing.

To avoid emotional pain, we may times avoid situations, experiences, or relationships that lead to missed opportunities.

Everything has its pros and cons, sometimes being emotionally sensitive can offer strengths. We as emotional people have a capacity for empathy, understanding, and deep connection which are invaluable in many aspects of life.
