We Can't Survive Without Nature
If the earth knew what we were doing to it,
It would never give us its fruits.
If the sky knew what we were doing to it,
It would never send us fruitful rain
Or bright sun to warm and feed us.
If flowers knew what we were doing to them,
They would hide their beauty from us
And deprive us of intoxicating scents.
If the forests knew what we were doing to them,
They would deprive us of the air we breathe
And the branches in whose shade we rest.
If the waters knew what we were doing to them,
They would retreat deep into the bowels of the earth
And wouldn't let us refresh ourselves
Or quench our thirst.
If we ask ourselves
What is older on the planet,
They came first.
Man thinks he knows everything
And is the master of everything,
But he forgets one thing,
The earth, the sky, the flowers, the forests, the waters
Painfully feel man's negligence
And they run out of patience.
If they had a voice
They would tell us
"Man, think and act mature!
You can't survive if you destroy nature!
You can't survive without us!"
