Is it active, alive and well?

Writers, especially need good imaginations as we craft stories, memoirs, articles and what we want to communicate to others.

Writing is a constructive way to use our imaginations, don’t you think?

Yet our imaginations can also have a dark side to them.

When you wake up in the morning and don’t feel well, do you think something terrible is going on? You imagine cancer, a brain tumor, an infection, blindness….and the list goes on and on.

When our family heads out the door, do we imagine them getting in a car accident leading to injury or even death?

WHY do we do that to ourselves?

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…. 2 Corinthians 10:5

May I suggest — go to GOD first. Ask Him what you need to know.

If he shows you that there is an issue, then you can proceed from there.

In the meantime:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8 KJV

If we do this, we may find an extra measure of peace will be given!

We CAN capture errant thoughts, bring them to God and then think God honoring thoughts.

As a writer, let’s use our imaginations in a constructive manner! We have much to say so let’s be free of wild and scary imaginings and save it for our writing!
