From the desk of Rick DeLoach, President of the Fayette Humane Society in Georgia:

“I hope this message finds you well and full of the same passion and dedication for animal rescue that has been the cornerstone of our organization. We have some exciting news to share with you today!

After many years of outstanding service, our current Cat Director, Julie Lueder, has decided to retire after 10 years of service to our community, leaving behind a legacy of countless lives saved and a stronger, more compassionate community of feline lovers. While we are sad to bid farewell to such a remarkable leader, we are thrilled to announce an open position for the role of Cat Director, beginning on March 1, 2023.

This presents a unique opportunity for one of our dedicated volunteers or supporters to step into a leadership role and make a profound impact on the lives of cats in need.

As the Cat Director, you will be at the forefront of our mission, overseeing all aspects of our feline rescue efforts, including:

1. Managing the daily operations of our cat program, ensuring the well-being and comfort of our feline residents and training and building staff in key roles.

2. Collaborating with our network of volunteers to coordinate rescue missions, foster care, and adoption events.

3. Advocating for the welfare of cats in our community and promoting responsible pet ownership.

If you have a deep love for cats and a passion for making a difference, we encourage you to consider applying for this pivotal position. This is a volunteer unpaid position. We are committed to finding the right individual and believe that person might be among our own community of volunteers and supporters.

If you are interested in applying for the role of Cat Director, please review the attached job description (email rick.d@fayettehumane.org) and submit your application. We will carefully review all applications and conduct interviews to ensure a seamless transition and continued success in our cat rescue efforts.

We are excited about this new chapter in our organization’s journey and look forward to welcoming a passionate and dedicated individual to lead our cat rescue team. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Incorporated in 1973, the Fayette Humane Society (FHS) is the oldest nonprofit humane organization in Fayette County, Georgia. The FHS, staffed entirely by volunteers, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is supported entirely by individual and corporate donations.

Because we do not have a shelter, all of the animals we rescue live in temporary foster homes until they are adopted. We believe that all companion pets have intrinsic value and should be treated with the reverence and care they deserve.
