How Anxiety Can Paralyze Our Ideas and Actions
My Personal Struggle
Hello everyone, I am Gwladys Raymonde. I’m a mom, and I’m a life coach specializing in weight loss. Today, I want to share with you a personal struggle: my battle with anxiety.
What is anxiety?
Anxiety, for me, is a paralyzing force. It creeps into my mind at times when I should be full of energy and ideas. It’s an overwhelming feeling of doubt and fear that emerges the moment I’m ready to take action.
The impact of anxiety on my life
I can spend hours thinking, planning, and visualizing how I will share my ideas or help my clients. I feel confident, prepared, and ready to take on the world. But as soon as I have to speak up or implement my ideas, everything falls apart. My mind goes blank, my words become lost, and I find myself paralyzed.
Moments of paralysis
There were many moments when, despite careful preparation, I found myself unable to speak or act. For example, when I’m about to meet a client for the first time, I feel a wave of panic. My thoughts become confused, and I doubt my abilities to help them.
Doubt and loss of confidence
These episodes of anxiety make me doubt my intelligence and my skills. I wonder if I’m really cut out to be a life coach. Am I capable of helping others when I myself am plagued by these doubts and fears? It is a constant struggle to maintain my confidence in myself and my abilities.
Strategies for Overcoming Anxiety
- Deep breathing and mindfulness: These techniques help me calm my mind and center myself.
- Preparation and rehearsal: The more I prepare and rehearse, the more in control I feel, although anxiety is still present.
- Rephrasing negative thoughts: Transform thoughts like “I will fail” into “I am capable of succeeding”.
- Cancel my thoughts: When terrifying thoughts grip me, all I have to do is shout “CANCEL,” and then, like magic, they stop. Why am I doing this?
1. My brain immediately understands that I reject all failures and choose to remain confident.
2. It breaks the pattern of negative thoughts.
3. It allows me to transform my anxieties into positive and victorious thoughts.
The importance of community
One thing that helps me tremendously is talking about my anxiety with other people. Every time I share my feelings, I feel relief. It’s as if negative energy is leaving my body, leaving me lighter and freer. I firmly believe that we must not face these challenges alone.
Conclusion: A call to the community
If you, too, are feeling this crippling anxiety, know that you are not alone. By talking about our experiences and supporting each other, we can find ways to overcome these obstacles.
