When you attend almost all your friends weddings and baby showers, you can’t help but wonder when it is going to be your turn. You start asking yourself questions you don’t have answers to.
“Is something wrong with me?” This is one of the persistent questions. Then comes the series…
How come I can’t keep a relationship! The longest you have in your track record is ten months. The break up was long overdue and that relationship should have ended at six months. But since you wanted t prove yourself wrong, you added another four months of dissatisfaction.
Panic mode starts to set in with these flashbacks. Will I be alone for the rest of my life? Lord, who’s rib was I made from? This person seems to be on the other side of world and completely unaware that he needs his other half to be complete! But is this how it should be? Really?
I don’t think so. Your life shouldn’t stop or feel incomplete just because it’s on a different path than other people’s.
Having a healthy and loving relationship is far more important than having a ring on your finger. I’m sort of old school and I want my kids to grow up in a traditional family setting. I know what I want, do you?
Desperation causes one to settle and compromise on things that are really important to them. Years down the lane, it comes to bite in the butt! I want my butt intact (lol) therefore, I’ll take my time and if it’s meant to be then it will be.
Don’t let the peer pressure get to you. Sadly, our friends don’t even pressure us. We pressure ourselves through our friends by comparison.
Run your own race, get your own prize.
Only you can determine your progress based on your path. Are you where you were three months ago? Keep tabs on yourself. Only then, you will get the true value of satisfaction and happiness.
