#FutureWIT24: The Event to Unleash the Power of Gender Diversity in Generative AI
A UNESCO study revealed worrying tendencies in Large Language models (LLM) to produce gender bias. These AI-apps that we all use in our daily basis have the power to shape the perceptions of millions of people, and this is a power to amplify them.
AI biases can be cause by bias that is present in the data, or in the algorithms, and often occurs because the data collected is non-representative (there is no balance between genders, age groups, ethnic groups, etc). AI is designed to work at scale, and then is when a small bias can became a huge one.
So, does AI have a gender? Can it be neutral? How big corporations are building a responsable AI? How can we as individuals contribute?
