Our routine is aptly shaped by our habits.

A Perfect Planned Day may fail to deliver the end result if procrastination is one of your vices. Getting rid of bad habits like that is regarded as one of the most arduous tasks.

It takes dedication and patience to overcome those habits and for that Neuroplasticity will come in handy.

Before understanding that, let us look at what habit is from the perspective of neuroscience. Habit is the activity that puts the brain in autopilot mode. It is like you know the way and has been over there too much to care for conscious participation.

The more often you perform an action, the more you strengthen that neural connection. It becomes hardwire and it is hard to loosen that hardwire connection.

Previously, it was believed that it is hard to learn, adapt or change after some age.

The concept of a fixed mindset ruled the world until the idea of a growth mindset was introduced.

Hence the sayings:

“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.”
