Life on the Slopes of an Active Volcano

A constant reminder for living in the present.

Our house rests on the slopes of Hualalai, an active volcano that last erupted in 1820. According to geologists, Hualalai is due for another flow any day now. The mountain stops in the clouds at 8271 feet while keeping an eye on the leeward side of the Big Island as its most western volcanic front.
