Yearly house cleaning should become a habit in every family. For my family, it took an extermination appointment to do what should have been done a long time ago. For the past three years, all I have seen is my family closets just shoved with things we never touch. This extermination allowed us to pack what was truly needed and throw out everything else. You would be surprised by the number of things we tend to hoard on to and never think about just throwing everything out.

I love to throw everything out, whereas it takes a miracle to convince my mom to throw something out. Yes, I consider her to be a hoarder. Doing a yearly house cleaning can be a hassle since it requires a lot of hard labor, but it can be very beneficial. This blog aims to encourage all families to do yearly house cleaning and throw out what is not needed. It is also important to not be a hoarder and learn to let things go and throw everything out.

My experience with doing a proper house cleaning helped me personally and will help my family since it eliminated what was not needed in our condo and help us keep what is truly needed. Throughout the year, families tend to keep buying things and never look back at what should be gone after a certain point. Through this experience, families can finally take everything out in the open and go through each of their properties and decide, do they currently use it, or will it ever be used?

Without doing a yearly house cleaning, as human beings, we tend to keep things in places that we never look at, and will never come out unless we move. Families should get in the habit of doing at least a yearly house cleaning to see what is around the house that has no value to the family or the lives of the family. This also teaches us to live a minimalistic lifestyle.

Minimalistic Lifestyle

Another importance of doing a yearly house cleaning is to live a minimalistic lifestyle and learning to live with the minimum things needed for everyone in a family. Not everything in a household is always needed, and you would be surprised by the things we never touch and leave in our rooms. If things are never used, they should be thrown out. If things are lifetime momentums and special from special events like trips and weddings, then they can be kept.

However, what is being thrown out are things like boxes, papers, home materials that are always used. Furthermore, it helps us reorganize the structure of the house. The structure of the house is the mind’s zen. If the house’s structure is changed now and then, it changes the vibe of the house. That can also be very helpful for your mind. A housecleaning session allows for an enjoyable time with yourself or your family. With the things thrown out helps the house not be a junk place.

Your house is not a junk, it is your mind’s zen. So treat your house as it should.

Structural Changes to The House

The structural change to the house helps you reorganize where things should be and create a more zen place for your peace and mind. If you do a yearly house cleaning, look to change where you place things. If you are doing a house cleaning to throw out junk, then go ahead. However, the other aspect which helps is to change places where you put things. As a family, decide where you move your things. Moving tables, chairs, beds, and other things in your house is the structural change.

As a family, you can connect with your family and work together to come closer to each other. Work with each other’s strengths to decide where things should be, how you want to restructure the house. This will hopefully allow you to come together.

Concluding Hopeful Thought

I hope you enjoy a yearly house cleaning with your family and live a minimalistic but comfortable lifestyle. Lastly, structure your house with how you and your family can come to peaceful and mindful zen.
