Have you ever celebrated your birthday with no one buying your gifts? Well, some answers will be Yes, while some will be No., I have celebrated my birthday without receiving any gifts from anybody. It really hurts especially when you have many expectations from people you did the same to. When it happened to me, that was when I learned a lesson, and I have been trying my best to continue practicing it.

The lesson is ‘Buying myself a birthday gift’.

You shouldn’t wait till somebody buys you a gift before you will be happy. No! you should learn to buy yourself a birthday gift. It mustn’t be only on your birthday. You should learn to gift yourself once in a while.

Buying gifts and giving our body treats, helps the body to be active.

You might have worked on a project, that lasted for a long period of time and the end result will be a success, you should try and either give yourself a treat or buy yourself a gift. It might serve as a reward to your body for carrying you along and also for enduring the stress with you.

Our unconscious mind reads a lot of meaning to what we do with ourselves.

You might think your body is just something built up of flesh but it goes beyond that. It’s just like giving a task to someone and in the end, rewarding the person for the wonderful job well done. What do you think the person will do when next you give the person another task? The person will double the effort of the previous work. Yeah! right.

These gifts or treats, mustn’t be something edible, they can be an abstract thing as well, such as attention, love, care, etc.

Anthony J. D’Angelo said “The greatest gift that you can give yourself is a little bit of your own attention”.

The greatest gift you can give to yourself is self-love. When you love yourself, you will be able to do good things for yourself. You will be able to know what your body needs and when it needs it.

Our body, knows when it’s being treated nice. So, stop neglecting your body. Your body is yourself. Treat it as you would treat someone you love very deeply. Do not love it to a selfish kind, because most people forget what self-love is and therefore act selfishly in disguise of self-love.

Learn to care for your body, there are other ways to care for your body, and it's only you with the body that will know exactly how to treat your body right; both the inner you and outer you. Because most people only care for their outer body: wearing clothes, making up, etc. forgetting the inner part.

But make sure you love yourself and care for your body. Give it a treat once in a while, don’t wait for an occasion to do so.

And your body will in turn do good things and work well for you too.
