Who I am

Creative is my identity

Creative is who I am.

It is more of my identity than my gender

My age

Or sexuality;

Those are more fluid.

Creative is the solid part of me

It’s consistent

And always prodding me onward

To make something new.

Pieces of me crave perfection

But my creative core doesn’t.

It only wants to be unique;

idiosyncratic and free.

Today I create with my hands

But, if you took away my hands,

My tool for fabrication

Creativity would still be inside me

holding me up

I’d still have my voice.

Vocalizations would be my creations.

No one would ever repeat.

And if you took away my voice I would still have movement.

I’d create a dance;

Something only my broken body could perform.

And if you took away my body,

I’d still be a creative being

Creativity is my consciousness

My conscience is creative

Creative is who I am.
