If you have ever used Walkman players or Xperia phones by Sony in the good old times, you were pretty sure that Sony would be the market leader in the upcoming mobile technology. In those times, Sony was the fourth biggest mobile phone manufacturer. The X10 was released at the start of 2010. It was the first in the Xperia line to feature the Android operating system, where previous models ran on the Windows Mobile OS. The phone was praised for its design massively.

History

The story of Sony’s entrance in the phone market starts in 2001–2002 when they made a partnership with Ericsson. And with that, they kept focusing on innovation. Some of the innovations that Sony did in those days were

  1. Coloured Screen
  2. Digital Camera
  3. 2 Mega Pixel Camera
  4. 5 Mega Pixel Camera, etc.

But the biggest hit was Walkman Series. With these new features and Walkman Series, Sony was literally printing money. Everyone from the youth to the old became a fan of Sony.
